  • BC Hydro is the third largest electric utility in Canada. BC Hydro endeavours to provide energy solutions to its customers in an environmentally and socially responsible way by balancing British Columbians' energy needs with the concerns of the environment.

  • Canadian Centre for Energy Information is a non-profit organization created to meet the need for balanced and factual information regarding all aspects of the Canadian energy system, from crude oil, natural gas, coal, and hydroelectric power through to nuclear, solar, wind, geothermal and other sources of energy, as well as energy transmission and distribution systems and energy end use.


    We provide accurate, timely, relevant information about Canada’s energy system in an effort to foster greater awareness and understanding of energy-related issues. Original content developed by the Centre for Energy is reviewed by subject matter experts from industry, government, educational institutions and other interested parties to ensure accuracy and balance. We believe that an informed public better understands and supports energy policy and regulatory choices, makes better business decisions related to energy, chooses careers in energy, invests in energy and uses energy wisely.

  • Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) members generate, transport and distribute electrical energy to industrial, commercial, residential and institutional customers across Canada every day.
    Our mission is to enhance the economic well-being of Canada by managing our sector’s growth in a sustainable fashion. We are committed to managing the social, environmental and economic impacts of our industry in a responsible and innovative manner.

  • The Canadian Gas Association is the voice of Canada 's natural gas delivery industry. CGA members are gas distribution companies, transmission companies, related equipment manufacturers, and other service providers involved in the delivery of natural gas in Canada and the United States.

  • Canadian GeoExchange Coalition acts as the industry catalyst to unite private and public sector stakeholders, and to expand the market for geoexchange™ technology in Canada. As the nexus of information, training, certification, industry standards and public awareness, our mandate is to work with stakeholders to build the necessary infrastructure to foster the growth of the Canadian geoexchange™ industry.

  • Canada Green Buildings Council promotes buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live, work and play by engaging a national coalition of industry leaders to accelerate the mainstream adoption of green building principles, policies, practices, standards and tools.

  • Canadian Petroleum Products Institute is an association of major Canadian companies involved in the refining, distribution, and/or marketing of petroleum products. Since its creation in 1989, CPPI's mission has been to initiate discussion and dialogue in the development of public policy and regulation serving the long term interests of the Canadian consumer and of the Canadian petroleum industry.

  • Canadian Urban Institute is Canada’s leading applied urban policy institute dedicated to identifying, developing and delivering policy and planning solutions to enable urban regions to thrive and prosper. The Canadian Urban Institute is engaged in Canada’s movement to advance market transformation for sustainable communities and to encourage the application and integration of energy into the decision-making process at the municipal level. The Institute believes that the development of greener buildings and communities provides a tangible way to have a productive conversation about sustainability issues, including energy, affecting urban regions across Canada. Since the Institute’s inception, the CUI has led a visionary program of research into the long-term solutions for urban transportation and energy supply challenges.
  • Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) has been the national voice of municipal government since 1901. With more than 1,775 members, FCM represents the interests of municipalities on policy and program matters that fall within federal jurisdiction. Members include Canada's largest cities, small urban and rural communities, and 18 provincial and territorial municipal associations.

  • Government of British Columbia the Energy Efficiency Branch of the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources undertakes and supports numerous policy and program initiatives that promote energy efficiency in the province. These include the Community Action on Energy and Emissions Program, the LiveSmart BC: Efficiency Incentive Program, ongoing amendments to the BC Energy Efficiency Act and the chairing of the BC Partnership on Energy Conservation and Efficiency.

  • Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is helping to build Canada’s reputation for sustainable development, and as a quality producer of innovative resource-related products, technologies, services and research. NRCan enables innovation in these areas by providing the coordination, knowledge, expertise and leadership required to accelerate progress on sustainable development-both at home and abroad. While many activities of the department are relevant to the work of QUEST, two program areas are specifically relevant:

    Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency, Canada's centre of excellence for energy conservation, energy efficiency and alternative fuels information, is playing a dynamic leadership role in helping Canadians save millions of dollars in energy costs while contributing to a healthier environment.

    Natural Resources Canada's CanmetENERGY is the Canadian leader in clean energy research and technology development. Its goal is to ensure that Canada is at the leading edge of clean energy technologies to reduce air and greenhouse gas emissions and improve the health of Canadians.

  • Ontario Power Authority is responsible for ensuring a reliable, sustainable supply of electricity for Ontario. Its four key areas of focus are: planning the power system for the long term, leading and co-ordinating conservation initiatives across the province, ensuring development of needed generation resources, and supporting the continued evolution of the electricity sector.

  • Pollution Probe is a Canadian charitable organization whose mission is to define environmental problems through research, promote understanding through education, and press for practical solutions through advocacy. Pollution Probe works with all sectors of society to achieve positive and tangible environmental change.

  • Transport Canada serves the public interest through the promotion of a safe, secure, efficient, and environmentally responsible transportation system in Canada. Transport Canada'senvironmental initiatives include policies and programs that reduce emissions from personal vehicles, reduce emissions fromgoods movement, and improve the use of sustainable transportation infrastructure in communities.
